Factory boundary noise measurement for EIA compliance

A manufacturing plant in an industrial estate needed boundary noise and nuisance-noise measurements under its EIA conditions. We planned the measurement points, collected 24-hour data, and delivered a report accepted by the regulator.

The problem

EIA conditions required regular boundary noise measurement, with community concern about night-time nuisance noise.

Our approach

Outcome

The highest 24-hour boundary Leq across the eight points was 42 dBA — 28 dB below the 70 dBA limit in NEB Notification No. 29 (B.E. 2550). The corrected nuisance-noise difference at the nearest community receptor peaked at 6 dBA, inside the 10 dBA threshold of the MNRE notification (B.E. 2565). The report was accepted for the EIA reporting cycle, with engineering noise-control recommendations for the dominant sources.
