Measuring sound inside buildings for building acoustics work
When a contractor hands over a meeting room or a hotel room and the client says sound passes through it, what settles the argument is a number, not an impression. This half day covers which building acoustic parameters exist and how each is measured, then demonstrates reverberation time, speech intelligibility and the sound insulation performance of a wall system.

FAQ
Can this be used for construction acceptance testing?
Yes, and that is why most people take it. But an acceptance test that binds a counterparty has to name the standard and method in the contract from the start — this course lets you read and write that clause correctly.
Should an architect who never takes the measurement attend?
Yes. The most useful thing for a designer is knowing how the number specified on the drawing will later be verified, and which site conditions cause a failure even when the material was right.
Does Geonoise carry out the testing as well?
Yes — building acoustics testing is routine work for us. If you need a result for acceptance or to settle a dispute, ask for a quote.
