Noise contour mapping
A noise map turns a table of numbers into a picture that a manager or an official understands immediately. This half day grounds you in correct measurement first — a contour built on badly measured data is just a wrong answer drawn beautifully — and then demonstrates how the contour itself is produced.
- Format and duration
- Half day · 13:00–17:00 · Includes a software demonstration
- Who it is for
- Industrial and environmental noise practitioners, noise consultancies, plant designers, environmental noise engineers and safety officers.
What the course covers
- Fundamentals of noise and hearing
- Choosing measuring equipment that suits the work
- Measurement technique, calibration, and interpreting the calibration result
- Thai law and standards for industrial and nuisance noise
- How a noise contour is produced in modelling software, with a live demonstration
Standards referenced
Referenced to the Thai nuisance-noise notification and outdoor propagation per ISO 9613-2.
Ask for dates and a quote
Available as a public course and as an in-house programme. Tell us the headcount and the kind of work you do, and we will come back with dates that fit.
FAQ
How does this differ from the 1-day SoundPLAN course?
This one demonstrates how a contour comes about and how to read it. The SoundPLAN course is a full-day workshop where you build the model yourself.
Do I need to bring a laptop?
Not for this course — the software portion is a demonstration. If you want to build models yourself, take the SoundPLAN workshop instead.
Can a noise map be submitted to the authority on its own?
A map is part of a report, not the report. What an assessor examines is the measurement method, the instrument and the calculation behind the picture — which is why half of this course is spent on measuring correctly.
